

KS 5 - TEXTILES
This AQA Textiles course offers students who have made good progress in Key Stage 4, an opportunity to continue the subject to a higher level.
The 2 year course requires completion of a design and manufacture portfolio similar in style to those produced for GCSE Technology but including study to a far greater level. ICT and art graphics feature heavily throughout this course. Students also complete one external written examination in Year 12 and one in Year 13. Year 13 offers scope for specialisation.
Year 12 - AS
- Unit 1 - Written Paper - 50% of the total AS marks (25% of the total A Level marks)
- Unit 2 - Coursework - 50% of the total AS marks (25% of the total A Level marks)
Year 13 - A2
- Unit 3 - Major Coursework Project - Approx 50 hours taught and private study time – (25% of the total A Level marks)
- Unit 4 - External Written Examination - 3 hours duration - (25% of the total A Level marks)
