KS 5 - SPANISH

This OCR Spanish course offers sudents who have made good progress at Key Stage 4 an opportunity to continue the subject to a higher level.

YEAR 12: AS

Unit 1: Speaking - candidates take part in a role-play based on a stimulus text, and present and discuss a topic of their choice relating to aspects of Spain (or Hispano-America) or a literary text.
Unit 2: Listening Reading and Writing 1 - candidates do a range of tasks requiring non-verbal responses in Spanish or English to listening or reading texts in Spanish.
Unit 3: Reading and Writing - candidates are tested on understanding of written texts and AS grammatical structures, and complete a writing task in response to a stimulus text in Spanish.

YEAR 13: A2

Unit 4: Speaking and Reading - candidates take part in a discussion based on a stimulus text in Spanish and a general conversation relating to an issue current to Spain or a Spanish-speaking country.
Unit 5: Listening, Reading and Writing 2 - candidates do a range of tasks requiring non-verbal responses in Spanish or English to listening or reading texts in Spanish.
Unit 6: Culture and Society (Coursework) - candidates submit either one long, or two short pieces of coursework in Spanish on topics or texts of their choice.
