KS 5 - FRENCH

This AQA French course offers students who have made good progress at Key Stage 4 an opportunity to continue the subject to a higher level.

YEAR 12 AS

• Unit 1 Listening, Reading and Writing
  1 hour 35% of the total AS marks  (17% of the total A Level marks)
• Unit 2 Writing - Preliminary Material Booklet
  1 hour 30% of the total AS marks (15% of the total A Level marks )
• Unit 3 Speaking
  35 minutes 35% of the total AS marks (including 20 minutes 17% of the total A Level marks preparation time)

Year 13 A2

• Unit 4 Listening, Reading and Writing
  2 hours – 17% of the total A Level marks
• Unit 5C Centre Assessed Project
  Coursework – 15% of the total A Level marks
• Unit 6 Speaking
  35 minutes – 17% of the total A Level marks (including 20 minutes preparation time)

Events and Visits

• Students are given the opportunity to spend a week's Work Experience in Nemours. They work in clothes shops and local primary and secondary schools. Cultural opportunities to explore Paris and Fontainebleau are also available.
