KS 5 - ENGINEERING

This 2 year BTEC Engineering Level 3 course gives students the opportunity to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to gain employment in the engineering industry.

The course at the Leigh has been put together so as to give the students the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in their working life.

Year 12 AS:

Communication techniques using presentations
Electrical and Electronic Principles
Engineering Drawings

Year 13 A2:

Computer Aided Manufacturing
Fabrication processes
Electrical applications

All these units will be set in a vocational context and delivered through real life problems, encouraging team and individual work. All assessment and final grades will be taken from work in the above units. There are no external examinations.
