KS 5 - CHEMISTRY

The OCR Chemistry course is made up of 6 units studied over two years. This is a modern and relevant Chemistry course with an intergrated and concise practical assessment model to aid learners. There is comprehensive coverage od all major topics with an emphasis on relevance to everyday life, green issues and economic awareness.

Year 12 AS

• Unit F321 - Atoms, Bonds and Groups - assessed by a hour written examination, 30% of total AS GCE marks.

• Unit F322 - Chains, Energy and Resources - assessed by a 1.75 hour written examination, 50% of total AS GCE marks.

• Unit F323 - Practical Skills in Chemistry 1 - assessed by coursework, 20% of the total AS GCE marks.

Year 13 A2

• Unit F324 - Rings, Polymers and Analysis - assessed by a 1 hour written examination, 15% of total Advanced GCE marks.

• Unit F325 - Equilibra, Energetics and Elements- assessed by a 1.75 hour written examination, 25% of total Advanced GCE marks.

• Unit F326 - Practical Skills in Chemistry 2 - assessed by coursework, 10% of total Advanced GCE marks.
