

KS 5 - APPLIED ART & DESIGN
This course prepares students for vocational work in Art and Design and continues the format set at GCSE of externally set professional briefs. Students must meet deadlines, write a management plan, assess Health and Safety issues and carry out a range of research and experimentations to meet a client’s needs-all this to the highest professional standard.
Students are supported in arranging work experience in an Arts environment. Recent placements have seen students working in a graphics’ company, a photographer’s studio and in jewellery design.
Year 12 AS
- Students produce 2 units of work using a variety of media in both 2D and 3D
Year 13 A2
- Students complete a further 8 units, producing a high quality “showcase” of their work
