

KS 4 - FRENCH
Students study the GCSE course set by the AQA Board.
Students are assessed in the four skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing through the following topics:
- My World
- Holiday Time and Travel
- Work and Lifestyle
- Young Person in Society
Students are assessed through 4 modules taken over three years as follows:
- AQA Module 1 Speaking Coursework (12.5% of the final grade)
- AQA Module 3 Writing coursework (12.5% of the final grade)
- AQA Module 2 Listening & Reading exams (25% of the final grade)
- AQA Module 4 4 language skills exams (50% of the final grade)
Students are also given the opportunity to improve their speaking and writing coursework in subsequent years.

Events and Visits
- There is a Paris Education Visit. Students will spend a minimum of three nights exploring museums, historical sites and art galleries among other places.
Key Dates
- Students start and complete the GCSE Module 1 in Year 9. Later in the year they complete Module 3.
- In Year 10 students complete Module 2 and improve on previous modules.
