

KS 4 - FRENCH
Students study the New GCSE course set by the AQA Board.
Students are assessed in the four skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing, they have to complete 4 units:
- Unit 1: Listening 20 % of the marks
- Unit 2: Reading 20% of the marks
- Unit 3: Speaking - controlled assessment which is internally assessed 30% of the marks. Students submit 2 tasks.
- Unit 4: Writing - controlled assessment which is externally assessed 30% of the marks. Students submit 2 tasks.
Students are assessed through 4 modules taken over three years as follows:
- AQA Module 1
- AQA Module 3
- AQA Module 2
- AQA Module 4

Events and Visits
- There is a Paris Education Visit. Students will spend a minimum of three nights exploring museums, historical sites and art galleries among other places.
- Year 9 Immersion course in Normandy

- December 2009 - Year 11 to submit audio tape work and 2 pieces of written coursework..
- Summer 2010 - Year 11 to complete Module 4
- Year 10 to complete part of New GCSE
