KS 3 - FRENCH

In Years 7 and 8 the programme of study aims to develop:

• Linguistic competence
• Knowledge about the language
• Creativity
• Intercultural understanding

We achieve this through the following key processes:

• Developing language - learning strategies
• Developing language skills

As pupils' independence increases, they can be encouraged to become more creative in their use of language and in the way they work, using language for their own purposes rather than merely to practise skills.
